Student Project Description

ClimaCheck engaged a group of George Washington University MBA students to conduct comprehensive research on the U.S. heating and cooling industry, and ultimately develop a U.S. market-entry strategy. Specifically, the students were tasked with identifying the key strategic players within the U.S. market, including competing firms, technical consultants, potential customers, and other end-users. In addition to overviewing the competitive environment, the students also provided ClimaCheck with an understanding of the legal environment in the United States and associated opportunities and barriers to entry. Through an intensive iterative process, the students incorporated their research and the client’s industry experience in Sweden with the feedback of industry experts in the United States, to produce an actionable market-entry strategy. The students presented their strategy to ClimaCheck’s executive leadership team at the American Embassy in Stockholm, Sweden. Equipped with the students’ strategy and research, ClimaCheck’s objective of identifying optimal geographic and market specific areas to invest was fulfilled.
